Barcelona star Lionel Messi has been updated by the club to be an injured player. The team’s key man missed the training session and workout on Friday. The Catalan giant says the Argentine has picked up a minor injury but he is expected to be back to training next week.
Here is the statement:
“Barca captain Lionel Messi has a minor right quadriceps injury and trained in isolation, performing some specific exercises to avoid any unpredicted risks with just eight days remaining before Barcelona finally gets back to playing matches. He should be able to rejoin his team-mates in a few days’ time.”
Although it isn’t certain if Messi will miss the trip to Real Mallorca on June 13, he is expected to be back in full training next week which sounds positive.
It is also reported that Ansu Fati worked out individually on Friday. The youngster is reportedly facing a little knee injury. The report also revealed that Quique Setien’s side will train together at Camp Nou today to help the players prepare for the upcoming matches that will be played behind closed doors.
