An official of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, says the institution has not joined the ongoing two weeks warning strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
Dr. Issa Abdulraheem, who is the Chairman of a faction of ASUU in the institution, Congress of University Academics (CONUA) disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Ilorin.
Abdulraheem said members of staff of the institution belonged to CONUA, as such, they had nothing to do with the warning strike by ASUU.
”We made our position clear some few days ago that we will not go on strike and we are standing by it.
”This is because we are CONUA, and we have nothing to do with the ASUU strike.
”I met with the Senate of the institution and we told all our members that they should go to work and they agreed.
”So, work goes on in KWASU, we are not on strike,” he made clear
