Man who died in UITH, Kwara State, is affirmed to be negative to Coronavirus after tests were carried out on his contacts which came out negative.

It was reported that the late Alhaji Jimoh Muideen was brought into the University of Ilorin Teaching hospital on Tuesday night after he had been taken to the Sobi hospital which is supposed to be Kwara’s isolation center but it was closed.

His wife had stated upon his admission that he ate spoiled pineapple. Later diagnosed to have died of food poisoning by the hospital after his death the next day. It is also reported that late Alhaji Muideen was also HIV positive prior to his death.

The late Alhaji Muideen had a younger brother who is a Prof. Dr. at UITH. The doctor wanted to bury his elder brother on time due to Islamic religious proceedings, so he was given an ambulance to the late’s hometown, Offa.

But due to the rumor which surfaced on Wednesday morning on the social media platform, Whatsapp, that Alhaji Muideen had arrived from the United Kingdom recently. The whole of Ilorin went frenetic in putting out warning signs to their friends and family about a potential or confirmed case, that the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital is trying to cover up.

Nevertheless, blood samples were taken from the late Alhaji’s wife, the professor Doctor (whose name is undisclosed) and some other people that came in contact with the late Alhaji Muideen.

All the test results came in negative except for the wife who is still pending.
