MY DESIRE

Series 6

By Abubakar Balqees opeyemi,100 level MELL

Entering Abdulqodri’s car was all I could remember when I opened my eyes and found myself in a very dark room.

I was so scared that I didn’t know when tears started rolling down on my cheeks. “Aminat said it, what have I done to myself? Where I’m I? Is Abdulqodri truly a ritualist?” I kept soliloquizing until someone switched the light ON. The person was behind me and I couldn’t turn back to see who the person was since I was tied on a chair.

“Longest time,” the person said to me, and to my surprise, it was a familiar voice but I couldn’t recall whose voice was it.
“You are blinded by your desire of getting a rich boyfriend so much that you lost your moral conduct,” the person said. He switched OFF the light and left the room.

Few minutes after the person left the room, someone came in, put on the light, and moved closer to me from behind, walking slowly as I was scaring.

“What have I done to myself? Why is this happening to me? Will I survive this?” I asked myself rhetorically.

The person touched me slowly and moved to my front “Baby girl” he said with chuckles. It was Abdulqodri. “You asked your self what you are doing here, I can answer that question. You are here because I’m rich” he said deridingly and I asked, “what do you want?” “Shut up” he shouted and my heart struck. I couldn’t believe Abdulqodri could shout at me that way and at that point, I believed Abdulqodri was a monster.

After shouting at me, Abdulqodri rubbed my head to the shoulder romantically, look into my eyes, and said to me “babygirl, calm down” I turned my head and closed my eyes because I couldn’t look at him in the eyes. Then he said to me “I mean no harm, I just want to make sure I touch you the way I do” At that point, I reasoned he was one of those guys that keep their lovers away from other guys. Then I asked him why he had to get met tied when he didn’t mean to hurt me.

He replied me in a low romantic voice and a sexy look on his face that got me carried away “I met you just a few days ago but I’m crazy about you, I couldn’t stop thinking about you since I met you and I want you around me”

Then I asked, “Is that why you have decided to kidnap me?” But he answered “baby no, this is not called kidnap, it’s called love safety. I just want to have access to you anytime, I want to see your charming face whenever I want, I want to look into your eyes and tell you that you’re pretty, tell you that I’m crazy about you, that I want to spend my life with you and make sure no other guy feel what I’m feeling in you”

I said to him crying “I’m crazy about you too, I want to be around you too but my mum will be worried about me. Please let me go home” Then he said “don’t worry about your mum. I will send her lots of money, I will make sure she lacks nothing and believe me, she won’t miss you too much”

I said again ” No! She’s a mother, no amount of money can make her forget her own child. See, I know you love me and I love you too. I promiseโ€ฆ” I wanted to continue but he shouted at me and said “what do you think love is? We met just a few days ago and you were already willing to go out with me. I agree people fall in love at first sight but a responsible lady will try and find out who a guy really is. If you appear rich, she will find out what the source of your income is or family background before going out with you. But as for the gold diggers, they don’t bother to find that. And guess what? You are a gold digger and I can never fall in love with a girl like you”. He said and left me on the chair

Who is Abdulqodri?

To be continuedโ€ฆ
