The Redeemed Christian church of God (RCCG) general overseer pastor Enoch Adeboye has finally broken his silence on the situation the world is facing presently. Adeboye being one of the world known pastors and overseers said on Sunday “the current outbreak of COVID-19 across the world will soon subside but will not be completely eradicated”.
The clergy, who addressed the congregation on Sunday across the world via a live broadcast, also asserted that God had revealed to him earlier this year that the world would experience a global break, through which all activities would be stopped and everything would become stagnant. Due to this revelation, he asked his congregation to undertake a 50- day fast earlier this year, which they did and ended on February 29.
He continued further in his message to the church and said “the outbreak was God’s way of calling the attention of the world to a godly living, irrespective of class or social standing and to show that he is still in control of human affairs. He added and said, this is because the global break now affected both low and high class citizens as most nations across the world have now locked down their communities and closed their borders.
He also opposed the statement of those saying Satan was the source of all evil and not God. He reminded them of the story of Job in the scripture. “Even Satan cannot carry out his agendas over job until God gave him the express permission, job 1:6-12. The COVID-19 pandemic is God’s way of telling the globe, he is still in charge. It will certainly subside and go away for a while and the world will recover,” he said.
Notwithstanding, pastor Adeboye referenced some verses of the bible ( Psalm 91, 121, Isaiah 25) and urged Christians not to fret but to rely on God for protection in this scary time. He said for those, who put their trust in God for their protection and supplies, no plague is permitted (by God) to come to their dwellings. The clergy quoted “He that dwells in the secret place of the most high (God), shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. The only requirement is for you to ‘dwell’ and ‘abide’ for you to enjoy the scriptural blessings of God which he promised in this end time,” pastor Adeboye said.
